The Nullarbor, Australia

The Nullarbor is the popular name for a stretch of 1.256 kilometres connecting the states of Western Australia and South Australia by means of the Eyre Highway. Nullarbor, meaning no trees, is a bit misleading as only a small section - the Nullarbor Plain - lacks trees, while the majority of the route has quite a variety of landscapes.

All photo's can be purchased on various materials through my shop on artheroes.com.

A Nullarbor sunset in Balladonia

Our first stop on the Nullarbor was in the Balladonia Roadhouse along the Eyre Highway in the state of Western Australia. When the sky turned orange we experienced a really great Nullarbor sunset in Balladonia.

Hazy morning layers

A little after sunrise looking eastwards at Scenic Lookout #3 along the Eyre Highway on the Nullarbor in the state of South Australia. The rising dew made for some nice hazy morning layers.

Layered cliff details

Layered cliff details at Scenic Lookout #2 along the Eyre Highway on the Nullarbor in South Australia. The slight morning mist gave this view a really great atmosphere. Apart from a few campers there was no-one around this early in the morning.

View from the Head of Bight Lookout

View from the Head of Bight Lookout along the Eyre Highway on the Nullarbor, South Australia. This view is the perfect example that the Nullarbor isn't all desert as popular belief goes. The coastline all along the Eyre Highway is spectacular.
