Dead Horse Point State Park, Utah, USA

In between our visits to Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park we decided to have lunch at the Dead Horse Point State Park in Utah. An easily overlooked smaller park that is worth visiting though. There's basically only one scenic viewpoint but it provides views all around on the Colorado River meandering through the eroded canyons below.

The Colorado river finding its way

The Colorado river finding its way in the Dead Horse Point State Park, Utah, USA. The enormity of the view is overwhelming. Hard to grasp the fact that nature took millions of years to scape this land and it will continue to do so long after humans no longer exist.

Some flowers do grow here

Musing on the grandeur as we gazed over the Dead Horse Point State Park in Utah, USA. Even though it all looks hot, dry and pretty dead, some flowers do grow here.

Bench with a view

I admit, I have a thing with benches. Especially this bench with a view like this one in the Dead Horse Point State Park, Utah, USA. We did sit here for a while but it was too hot to really enjoy our lunch so we went for some shadow.

So many weird structures

We saw so many weird structures in the Dead Horse Point State Park, Utah, USA, but we loved them all. Looking at rocks is something I find really fascinating to do.

Some funny rocks

Even though may all look similar, each has its own funny rocks, like here in the Dead Horse Point State Park, Utah, USA. A truly beautiful play of nature.
